How ServiceNow Risk Scoring Works
Inherent Score: The baseline risk score before any controls or mitigations are implemented.

Residual Score: The target score after accounting for active, fully functional controls.

Calculated Score: The dynamic score computed by taking the Residual Score and applying the Calculated Risk Factor. The Calculated Risk Factor is derived by averaging the Control Failure Factor (weight of failed vs. total controls) and the Indicator Failure Factor (failed risk indicators).
